Question by andy: Wake up from a dead sleep to vomit? Sleep apnea? High bp?
Ive recently started having fatigue, high blood pressure, dizzy spells, waking up to throw up from a dead sleep, nausea spells during the day, lump in my throat near my thyroid(thryoid test came out ok), night sweats, waking up in the night with low grade fevers (94 degree), and I know I do suffer from sleep apnea sometimes. What could it be? Im 23 female thin.

A lot of it may be in your head. And 94 is not a fever it is hypothermia.

Question by Amanda H: What does sleep apnea have to do with someone who just wont wake up in the morning.?
I have a VERY VERY hard time waking my husband up in the morning,. He doesn’t hear the alarm, kids, dog, phone…ANYTHING. People keep telling him to go get tested for sleep apnea, now under certain circumstances I would understand why you may go get tested for that, but my husband has been like this ALL his life, ever sense he was little. I have heard some pretty funny stories about when he was little and wouldn’t wake up. So I don’t understand why he would have sleep apnea now when he has been like this all his life.

He may have had apnea all of his life. My 6 yr old son just got his tonsils out and one of the reasons was because he has apnea. Does your husband snore, gasp for air or stop breathing? Being very hard to wake up is one of the symptoms since people with apnea are constantly waking up all night, but don’t remember it. He may be hard to wake up because he is soooo tired. Apnea is serious. It reduces your life span. It puts pressure on your heart and other organs. Your body is deprived of oxygen when you are not breathing properly. If in doubt, have him get checked.

Question by Dick: I have sleep apnea and I used a cpap machine on occasion. When I wake up after using it, it hurts to breathe..?
It almost feels like I have asthma afterwards. It’s not severe, just uncomfortable and it goes away after a bit. I am just wondering if anyone has experienced this or would know anything about it.

I have the same effect, though not quite to your extent. I think it’s because the CPAP is making us breathe properly..i.e. using our lungs as we should use them instead of the shallow breathing we mostly do during sleep without the the CPAP, therefore our lungs are filling with air which they’re not normally used to, like a muscle, they’re used to an extent that’s they’re not used to, thus a little pain in that muscle. Most of us shallow breathe during the day. I would suggest that you see a doctor just to make sure that it’s not some underlying lung infection, better to be sure than sorry.
