anywhere i go, i feel sleepy especially when i am not thinking of many things. i slept sometimes about 7 hours at night but when i go to school i feel very sleepy. but sometimes there are factors disturbing my mind like thinking of many things that’s why even i sleep for many hours, i still can’t sleep because i am just thinking of something……but that’s not the main reason because sometimes again i sleep at night very well and wake up in the morning good.. but wherever i go, i felt so sleepy like i want enjoying sleeping for many hours and even after that many hours past, i still feel sleepy and want to go back to bed again…now can you give comments base on my experiencing why i am falling asleep easily?

You may have sleep apnea. Even though you think you are sleeping for 9 hours, you’re actually waking up many times during the night, interrupting your sleep/wake pattern to the extent that you’re not getting enough actual sleep.

Are you overweight or have sinus issues? Those are two of the most common causes of sleep apnea, but anyone can have it. The best way to tell is to go to a sleep clinic where they can give you a machine to monitor your sleep habits.

Question by jp: i have sleep apnea & have used a cpap for 4 mths it has helped but still i have no energy what can i do?

Best answer:

Answer by npemtiv
Sleep apnea might not encompass your entire medical condition. Have you also been checked for anemia or other nutrient deficiencies? Also, consider how many hours a night you sleep. If you use a c-pap, but still only sleep 5 hours a night you probably won’t see much improvement. I would have to know more specifics about whaty ou mean by I have no energy, but I hope this helps some.

Question by Friend: I have sleep apnea and wear a CPAP but am still groggy all day.?
This morning I came to the realization that I may be getting too much sleep. I went to bed at 9:45 last night and awoke (without alarm clock) at 6:00 a.m. I got up and let the dog out then went back to my bed, because it was not time for me to be up. I laid there awake for at least 30 minutes. Eventually fell back asleep and when my alarm went off couldn’t not get up. Kept hitting snooze and was late for work. Is it possible that was too mch sleep. Should I have gotten up when my body naturally woke up?

Yes, it is possible to get too much sleep. You got just over eight hours when you awoke the first time. You complete your sleep cycle, which included stage 4 (REM) sleep. When you went back to bed, you restarted the cycle, but interrupted it with the alarm. Your body thought that it was not ready (because you didn’t get through the 4 stages) and kept telling you to sleep more.

Next time, try getting up when you body tells you to. It very well could work.

Best of luck
