Personal Experiences with Sleep Apnea?

I had a hunch that my fiance has sleep apnea and now his doctor thinks so too. He is scheduling him for a sleep study to find out. My fiance is tired all the time, regardless of how much sleep he gets. He comes home from work lethargic and exhausted. Yesterday he came home and parked at the end of the driveway and fell asleep. I found him and he was incoherent. We went to the er and they can’t find anything…that’s when i said “i think you need a sleep study.” Today his Doc agreed. He has all the classic symptoms; falling asleep quickly and frequently, fatigue and an insatiable need for sleep.
I would appreciate personal stories about your sleep apnea and how its affected you and your family.
Thanks

I have sleep apnea, I would fall asleep for 5-10 min. then wake up, never had a full night sleep, at times I would be so exhausted until I didn’t think I could make it. When I did fall asleep my husband would shake me because I wasn’t breathing, I had a sleep study done and that’s when they found out what was wrong with me. I now have a cpap that helps me so much, I can sleep 5-6 hours at night now and feel much better through out the day. It took me a while to get use to the mask but it cool now, when ever I go anywhere over night my cpap is the first thing I pack! it’s like never leave home without it. I hope this helped you some.
