Question by Sam: I am so depressed!!! I was diagnosed with sleep Apnea over 9 months ago.?
My ENT (Ear, nose throat ) doctor is a weirdo, he tells me to wear a mouthguard to help my breathing at night. first of all I dont belive him that I have sleep apnea, I think He is just B.S ing the whole thing. Second of all every time I go to his office he asks so how are you ?? I tell him OK we dont communicate that much. I went to a sleep study test from his clinic three or four times, based on my sleeping in his clininc I stop breathing a certain amount of time every nite I dont get the whole thing its all bizarre to me. I dont know what to do + I am on my Dads insurance so I dont have basically other options for a doctor, anyone have any suggestion about the truth of sleep apnea or is it a load of bullcr&p fabricated by some dumba8s trying to make tons of money off helpless studpid patients who think they have a sleep disorder when really its something else, Thanks alot!!

I have never heard of an E N T handling a sleep disorder. That is out of his field. I have sleep
apnea and have about four years. You should be on a CPAP machine while you are sleeping.
That keeps you from stopping breathing. If you are not using the machince you sure do not
want to wear a mouth guard. Thatwould help strangle you. Sleep Apnea can be bad because
only certain parts of your body will get the oxygen you need. It can lead to heart failure.
I am not trying to scare you but it needs the proper attentlion. Try to pull up sleep apnea on
the computer. It shold tell you about it and tell your dad you need to see a doctor that treats
sleep disorders. I wish I could remember the web site for sleep apnea.

Question by Joplin Drew: Headaches for over six months?
They’re reallly bad and progress worse throughout the day. My doctor removed my adenoids and tonsils and diagnosed me with Sleep Apnea, but nothing has gotten better. They are really bad. I had them when I was a baby for a few years too. Now there back. Could I possible have a hidden tumor or something? What could it really be causing it? Nothing seems to cure them.

Question by rhinorob: I have sleep apnea and got a CPAP machine 3 months ago and I am still sleepy…what’s up?
I get about 6 hours of sleep with my machine. The first couple of weeks, it felt like I had a lot more energy, but lately I find myself wanting to take naps again and have a hard time staying awake.

I recently heard about a disorder where people sleep for weeks-months on end. They are functional, they eat and can move and speak but they are in a dream-like stage. they are usually in a sort of nightmare stage the entire time they are up and moving and are generally frightened of people around them. also, they usually have rare cravings for certain foods while they are on sleeping bouts. there was some sort of news peice done on it, but i was trying to find info about it online and I couldnt find the news peice… probably because I forgot the name of the disorder.. does anyone know what its called?

My granddaughter has been on an apnea monitor since 4 months of age. Her most recent sleep study indicates Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea. In otherwords, they say her tonsils are too big and need to be removed.
I am curious if other children who have had this surgery had any difficulties with the surgery and/or recovery because of their age?
