Sleep Apnea Treatment

Question by : Snore treatments, what are a waste of money?
I was looking in Boots (the chemist/pharmicist) and there were throat sprays, an acupuncture ring and of course a mouth piece thing you wear to realign your jaw. Are these treatments, well the spray and ring just manufacturers playing on people’s insecurities to make money or are they worth a go? I don’t have sleep apnea by the way.

I know I don’t have sleep apnea because I took this pack home and it tested me while I was sleeping. Apparently, I scored 8 out of 40 and so had very mild sleep apnea. Consequently, the doctor said I should go and see the ENT (ear, nose and throat specialist) . The ENT doc said i could try the mouth guard thing made up by dentist. i do have TMJ problem though so not too optimistic about that.

I am so concerned about my mom who has moderate to severe sleep apnea. She has gone to the doctor and has been told she needs to take immediate steps to help herself (like surgery or the machine), but because of my family’s medical bills, she consistently denies herself to put the rest of us first. My family and I have tried to convince her to get what she needs to have done regardless, but she won’t, because she knows it will probably be expensive. Are there some effective things she can do instead of surgery or the machine? I’ve heard of home remedies, but are these good enough?? Please help!

My problem arises 8 years ago, I seen many doctors in the Philippines but none of them could cure my snorring and sleep apnea. I have heard about doctors in Singapore that could cure such snorring, but I don;t know how much will it cost me. Is it expensive. Any body there who knows how much is the cost of medical treatment specifically snorring and sleep apnea in singapore?
