Question by Pamm: do i have a sleep disorder mental disorder or what?
okay i know i have insomnia because my doctor told me but he also told me that it could be caused by another serious disorder so i wanted to know if you guys coul help me!
since i was little ive been scared to sleep by myself u know like any other kid bc the monsters were gnna get me and i often felt alone , usually this kid stage ends around 7 or eight but this continued till i was 11, i slept constricted under the covers covering my face so i couldnt see anything that way i wouldnt worry about anything untill i was about 11. now i cannot close my eyes bc i feel insecure afraid and anxious. i am always worried about the morning and what i need to do and if i dont have all my stuff together and what would happen if i didnt get my stuff together…etc etc. anywho i even often think about death and have to keep the t.v on and radio and a light and other little trinkets so it will seem….busy i guess in my room when i sleep. does this sound serious or no?

I don’t know what age you are now kiddo, but you sound like you’re suffering from generalised anxiety disorder, which could also explain the difficulty in getting to sleep. It seems that you are afraid of a lot of different things which is why i think its a generalised anxiety. I’d suggest this to your doctor the next time you see him/her & see what they think. It isn’t all that serious but life could be a lot easier & you’d be more relaxed about things if you tell or suggest to your doctor what i’ve written here.

Is sleep apnea/bipolar/ocd…and of those considered PHYSICAL disability (as opposed to psychiatrict). I want to apply for an apartment, but it says you must have a physical disability….

If a person gets treated for sleep apnea, such as using a CPAP machine, will the mental deficiencies resolve or will they have permanent brain damage/memory loss?

I am doing an assignment on the mental conditions caused after a person is diagnosed with sleep apnea. This means what type of issues they mentally encounter as a result of sleep apnea (such as depression, changes the must do in their environment etc.) And I would like some literature to read and information that Sleep Apnea causes that most would not be aware to know about.

I feel like my mind is weak because I had sleep apnea all through school. I am in my mind 20’s and have sleep apnea due to the structure of my body (I am not overweight which is the usual cause). I did ok in school but I just feel like I didn’t absorb everything I needed to. What would you do? I know use C-PAP and have been for a few month and am feeling a lot better. Any advice would help. Thanks.
