Question by GangRelatedKillings: How long does it take to take a SLEEP APNEA TEST? How many hours do I have to be asleep?
The doctor said I have to take this test cause I snore. And I don’t even snore loud. Man this is stupid I know I don’t have sleep apnea. But I have problems sleeping – so I usually get in like 4 hours at most then I wake up. Not from sleep apnea, from STRESS i have been thru in my life. So I don’t think i’mma be able to sleep more than 4 hours, maybe 3 depending on the environment. if I wake up should I pretend to be sleep again?

They send you home with a machine to wear for the night. Not very comfortable if you ask me.
And it is for the night. Then you return the machine and they read the tape information recorded for the night.
Talk to the doctor more about the stress and that for you sleeping.

Question by Randy: Long term use of Dis.Water for humidifing in a CPAP breathing machine. CPAP is for sleep apnea problems?
After reading the information regarding the benifits and complications drinking distilled water over a long period of time, made me think about using it in the humidifier for my breathing machine. Is there enough exposure over a long period of time to be concerned about. If so, is there any other options to concider. Thanks

Distilled water is the best type of water to use in a CPAP machine. Other types of water can cause problems with your machine over time. The amount of water that gets into your system from the CPAP machine is not enough to cause problems in your body. On the contrary, humidifying the air is helpful.

Question by CherryGurlEh: How long does it take to die from sleep apnea? (Mature answers)?
Will it take weeks, months, days, weeks how long?
I’ve had it since February we went to the doctors but they wouldn’t listen so we are going back next week with the symptoms,it has now been 5 months now since I was diagnosed with the sleep apnea.
These are my symptoms of sleep apnea:
1.I fall asleep at inappropriate times and I am even tired in mornings.
2.I stop breathing for ten seconds without having anything on my mind at night.
3.I gasp or choke for breath.
Today at school it happened again when I was a bit tired after having a short sleep in class, and I went outside without a care in the world and it came back and my throat tightened and I was choking for breath it came back after a few seconds of gasping and choking.

Question by winter x: PLEASE HELP……………..(KINDA LONG)?
I posted this already but I really want open opinions on what this could be before I go to the doctor later please help me..here’s what happened:
Ok so the most scariest and weirdest thing happened to me like an hour ago..I told my bf that I was scared to fall asleep because everytime I tried, it felt like I stopped breathing for a while.(my allergies made it hard to breathe from my nose, too) So, anyway. he texted me at 1:04, i ignored it and went over to my side and thought of anything so I could fall asleep. Not even a minute went by and I opened my eyes gasping for air and I started hyperventilating. I looked around like wtf just happened and I tried turning my head on the pillow to call my bf but everything was in slow motion i couldn’t move fast i saw everything in slow mo..it was so weird!! I tried moving my legs and that was just as slow then I was like fux it and turned quick to get my phone. I looked at the time and it was only 1:06 -_- A few minutes later i was verrryy paranoid, every little thing i saw and heard scared me to death! I felt scared and also felt like I had to cry…
Anyone know what this was??
I read on here that It could be Sleep Apnea but what about everything else??

It sounds like you might have had an asthma attack. You should see your doctor about it. You might need to get an inhaler.

Question by a13535: how long does it take for a child with edenoid hypertrophy to recover after surgery in his social development?
the child (4.5 yrs) suffered from sleep apnea as a result of the enlarged adenoid and his social development (esp. peer relationships) seemed to be delayed. his adenoid and tonsils were removed in a surgery so the sleep apnea seems to have been corrected. when can we expect that he catch up in his social development?

My cousin Robert had those problems. He is still an outcast at fifteen. He is VERY hard to get along with, and he had his adenoids out as a one or two year old.
