Question by Jizzie: My snoring problem is bad, I’ve woken myself up from it. Don’t think I have sleep apnea. What can I do?
I’m not overweight, I sleep on my back. Sometimes I drool, lol. I’m so loud that my husband has been sleeping in another room. I even woke up a few times due to some loud noise and I realized it was me! Although I do get tired throughout the day, I feel like I get enough sleep. What’s wrong with me?

You could have sleep apnea. See your doctor. You can have a sleep study that will answer your question. Don’t put it off. Sleep apnea can be very serious. If you have it you have periods when you quit breathing. People can die from this. It can cause heart damage. It can be successfully treated.

The apnea diagnosis is so slight that I do not require treatment with a C-PAP machine. I’m surprised that I’ve been declined. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I’m normally the kind of college student that gets 6 hours a night, and thats enough, and 7 is a great nights sleep. Within the last few nights I have been unable to wake myself up before 10:00 am. This included going to be around 11:00 pm. So I’m sleeping close to 11 Hours a night. My sleeping environment hasnt changed at all. My only concern is that it isnt even an issue of self discipline, as my alarm went off this morning I was unable to turn it off. I was messing around with button on top instead of the side(Have had the clock for over 4 years). When my cell phone vibrated and woke me up, I got up to turn off my alarm clock!
Any Expanations?

Okay, ever since summer started, I’ve been staying up late. Like, up until 1AM and stuff like that. I didn’t think about it that much, since it is summer vacation. But recently, it’s gotten worse. Most nights, I can’t go to sleep until 3 or 4AM and then I don’t wake up until 2PM. Some nights I just don’t go to sleep at all. And no matter how hard I try to go to sleep, I just can’t do it.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

My family believes it started when my grandmother passed away (she was dying of cancer in our home for several months)
I don’t live in that same house anymore. I have night terrors, I scream and wake up my family and even have done it at other people’s places. People have thought I was being murdered before because it is so loud. I have no recollection of this at all as you would expect.
Is there treatment for this kind of thing?
