Sleep Apnea Treatment

Question by Natez: Gasping for breath definitely means apnea?
I sometimes have a feeling like I’m gasping for breath in the middle of the night. I don’t have any other symptoms of sleep apnea (morning headaches, tiredness in the day, etc)

I live alone and sleep by myself. Is there any way to tell if this is apnea?

that is indeed a cardinal sign of sleep apnea, but the only way you will know for sure is to have a sleep study done.

Last night, I woke up with pains in my chest(what felt like heart area) and when I took a few deep breaths, the pain began to go away and I fell back to sleep. Could this be sleep apnea and because I wasnt breathing, my heart was not functioning properly, and therefore causing the pain?? I’m scared about this.

I get horrible sleep usually and end up peeing several times a night. Could I have sleep apnea?

my boyfriend has all the symptoms of sleep apnea..hes gained weight, he snores and is very tired at work all the time…3 times so far…he woke up gasping for air and said he felt like there was a huge mucus plug in his throat…do you think this is obstructive sleep apnea?
