Sleep Apnea Treatment

Question by shell bell: I dont think I can handle this anymore?
My son is only 5 months old..he has been hospitalized twice. He has been diagnosed with sleep apnea, sagittal craniosynosis, tremurs, bronculitis, bonchio spasms and the most recent ringworm. He has had one surgery for his sagittal craniosynosis last month. I keep telling myself that it is fixable but I am afraid that one day something will be wrong with him and it wont be fixable. How can I keep my head up when so many things are always wrong with him? He is on breathing treatments every day until April…it is getting hard to keep happy! Do you have any advice for me?
He also has ezcema and we are working really hard to try and clear that up

hang in there and keep your faith. try to be happy for the blessing that you do have, and great things will come. until that day though just put on a happy face, deal with the stress, and love your baby with all of you. good luck sweetie.

I live with a roommate and her child (who is there 1/2 time). This is her first child and she is 42. Her father split from them but has custody of the 4 and 1/2 year old the other half of the time. The little girl has terrible habits and because of the lack of consistency between the two parenting styles, it is a recipe for disaster. At my house, the girl still uses a pacifier, falls asleep to movies every night in mommy’s arms, eats terribly (she is very picky and eats only ice cream, ramen, spagettios, pbj, waffles, etc. and WILL NOT try anything else without being force fed), she is overweight and is being tested for sleep apnea and worst of all, when she does not get her way, yells “I do not love you! You’re a baby!”

I have talked to the little girl about how saying that can be hurtful to other people, to express how you feel by using words like angry, hurt, tired, hungry, and not saying that. But without backup from her mother, which I had for about 2 days, we are back at it. I love kids but I don’t love this one. I understand her plight but in my opinion, she’s not a good kid, and her mom is not a good mom, although she is a very sweet and loving person. I’m sorry to say it, but I don’t know what else to do. I can’t take over her parenting responsibilities and whenever I try to make changes, I have mommy and baby against me. Not to mention her self-centered father.

Do I put in more effort or do I just accept that I live with a child with poor manners and that I can only influence her life but not change it? Thoughts?

how bout mind your bizz about how people raise their kids.why does it bother u that this kids falls asleep to a movie in her mothers arms? whats wrong with u? get over it or tell her to find another place to go.

people like you are the problem.always in others bizzness. stay out of it.

Question by nwafanusa1: How expensive is the gastric bypass surgery (bariatric) if you don’t have health insurance to pay for it?
I am 39 years old and very obese and have diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, and high triglycerides. My doctor at the VA Hospital wants them to give me gastric bypass surgery but they no longer do it at the VA Hospital. Is there any VA Hospitals that perform gastric bypass surgeries (regular one) or how much money do you need to have it done on your own? Please help me. Thank You.

I don’t know where you are from but call the patient representative at the VA and ask them about other VA hospitals, where they are and if they do the gastric bypass. Try a county hospital in your area (they do have programs) you will probably have to jump thru hoops but it will be worth it.
As for as how much it cost it varies I would say $ 15000 up to $ 30000. Also, go to the VA web site

its not comfertable and i have not been using it for a while i remember going to this place where they have you spend the night and they hook up lots of stuff anf moniter your sleeping and i think they said i stop breathing in my sleep like about 14 times a min but i could be wrong but yeah have not be usieing my machine and im not getting real sleep and if you wanna know more just email me oh and what can happen to me if i dont use it like im doing now

it is crucial to try and use your machine…not getting adequate sleep has dire consequnces including, obesity, heart disease, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes too name a few. Since u r still growing in order to maximize your growth potential u need to get adequate sleep.
