http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPv8aKg_Lno

Snoring is the vibration of respiratory structures and the resulting sound, due to obstructed air movement during breathing while sleeping. In some cases the sound may be soft, but in other cases, it can be loud and unpleasant. Snoring during sleep may be a sign, or first alarm, of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Question by Nice Guy: Hyperventilation: Is there a cure?
I have had a problem with breathing for 2 solid months now. It all started on 4/17/08. I seem to take deep breaths to feel like I am getting enough air. I have had EKGs, CT scans on my chest, a Stress Test, Spirometry (breathing test). All have come out fine. I have been told it is Anxiety. I have been on Lexapro, side effects were too bad. I have been on Zoloft, did nothing but give me insomnia. I have been taking Ativan for 2 months, I am a afraid I am being hooked, my psychiatrist, is not concerned though. She wants to try me on Paxil, but I do know if being on too many “head drugs” is a good thing. I have also been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and I am on a CPAP. Can ANYONE give me some kind of answer to this? It is consuming my life!!

Question by SHEMH: How do I cure insomnia while I am pregnant?
I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and insomnia came along with it. I cannot sleep at night and finds it precious to sleep during the day. My mother-in-law is freaking out because she thinks I intend not to sleep, plus, I told her yesterday after my monthly check up that I lost a pound. The reason behind that is that I threw up the morning before I went to see the doctor and didn’t get to eat at all.
My husband and I live with them (his family) and they’re all used to not sleeping early. I hear tv in my room, i hear doors opening and closing, i hear footsteps and i hear them talk sometimes. I can’t do anything about it because it’s what they’re used to and it’s their house. Plus, my husband has sleep apnea so he snores when he sleeps.
I feel so bad. What do I do? I don’t ike them thinking that do not care for my baby by staying up at night and not sleeping at all. What I don’t like more is that some other relatives get to know that, too, which I find not so nice. I just cannot sleep, that’s it. They should know that pregnant women experience insomnia and not accuse me of being irresponsible. SIGH :(

is that really insomnia or inability to sleep normally because of all the distractions.
first, avoid drinks that contain caffeine at least 5 hours before you go to sleep.soda as mountain dew has the most, next is tea , then coffee.Avoid energy drinks too, most horrible for altering sleeping patterns.
2nd is do some stretching exercises before going to bed. In yoga, they call it the camel, snake, clam, bow, plow. Ask the doctor which is suitable for you when the tummy is not that big.
3rd is have a music that runs continually during your sleep so as to neutralize other noises. There are music or sound effects of nature available such as the sound of rains, seashore, etc.

Question by jehut: Can you cure me?
I have autoimmune hepatitis, low white blood cells, diabetes, no thyroid(lost to Grave’s disease), arthritis, sleep apnea, and anemia. What is wrong with me? Where do I go for help? They can’t all just be ‘flukes!’

My first guess would be you need to see three doctors. You can see an orthopedist for the arthritis, a hematologist or endocrinologist for the blood problems, and an ENT for the sleep apnea.

I wish you well!
