anywhere i go, i feel sleepy especially when i am not thinking of many things. i slept sometimes about 7 hours at night but when i go to school i feel very sleepy. but sometimes there are factors disturbing my mind like thinking of many things that’s why even i sleep for many hours, i still can’t sleep because i am just thinking of something……but that’s not the main reason because sometimes again i sleep at night very well and wake up in the morning good.. but wherever i go, i felt so sleepy like i want enjoying sleeping for many hours and even after that many hours past, i still feel sleepy and want to go back to bed again…now can you give comments base on my experiencing why i am falling asleep easily?
i have sinus..then i can’t breath well, it’s hard to breath…and i went to clinic from the past month, the doctor told me, i have bronchitis…

You may have sleep apnea. Even though you think you are sleeping for 9 hours, you’re actually waking up many times during the night, interrupting your sleep/wake pattern to the extent that you’re not getting enough actual sleep.

Are you overweight or have sinus issues? Those are two of the most common causes of sleep apnea, but anyone can have it. The best way to tell is to go to a sleep clinic where they can give you a machine to monitor your sleep habits.

I was wondering if I’m the only one who has had this problem. Basically, soon after I fall asleep… anywhere from right after I doze off up until 1-2 hours I will wake up in a daze feeling as if my lungs are tight and I can’t move any air until after I wake up fully. It doesn’t happen past an hour or 2 of being asleep.

This will happen almost every night for a while, and then it will go away completely and won’t happen at all for months at a time, only to start up again happening almost every night after many months have gone by.

I had a sleep test done in the hospital and nothing happened that night but I was told that my test was normal and I don’t even have sleep apnea.

Did they check you for asthma? I have asthma and the same thing happens to me.

I keep waking up “gasping” for air. It’s like someone has been suffocating me. It happens a lot after a night of drinking. I am 30 and have been told this might be sleep apnea.

It really feels like I am dying sometimes. I called a local sleep disorder clinic in my area and they said they need my primary doctors permission to do any testing. Is this what sleep apnea is like? Thanks
It still happens after a night of not drinking. I don’t drink every day, I work 12 hour midnight shifts at a hospital and it’s messing with my job since I keep waking up frequently.

Actually, no, it’s not what sleep apnea is like. Most people with the problem don’t even realize it, although they are often told by bed partners that they sleep like chain saws. They usually feel pretty sleep deprived, tired all the time, and sometimes will fall asleep while doing other things. It sounds more like you are experiencing breathing problems due to an over-consumption of alcohol, which is after all an anesthetic. To find out if you actually have sleep apnea, you would first need to see your regular doctor. The doctor refers you to a sleep clinic, where you spend the night being monitored while you sleep. You generally get the results the next day or so. If you do actually have sleep apnea, they will prescribe a CPap machine to wear at night, to prevent you from stopping breathing. In your case though, I think you’d have better luck if you just dialed back on the alcohol some. A CPap won’t help you breath if you are simply too anesthetized to do it on your own. That’s the job of a respirator. They also won’t do a sleep study after you’ve been drinking, and you evidently don’t have the problem otherwise. As the evaluation for sleep apnea will run you near the $ 4000 mark, it might be cheaper for you to consider simply going easier on the drinks.

UVPPP surgery is the best solutiuon. I had i done and sleep apnea is gone. CPAP was too much of a nuisance for me. One week of pain has cured me.

I am sicker every day with low oxygen. I started the CPAP a couple of weeks ago. Will it really work? How do I keep my job? I can barely think anymore. Terrified here.

If you did not go for an overnight sleep study test your machine may not be turned up enough for your specific needs. You should be able to tell the difference immediately, Back to the doctor you go. Tell the doctor that you need your machine turned up higher.

I sleep on my stomach and I have the nasal mask for my CPAP machine but I can’t get comfy at all and can’t fall asleep. I have never slept through the night with it and I am tired every day. I am wondering if I took a sleeping pill with it at night if that would help. I need to figure something out because the coffee is starting not to be effective with keeping me awake during the day. Any help or suggestions out there?

go back to the doctor that gave you the machine let him kno is not working for you..there are other options, u shouldnt be feeling this way and it shouldnt leave that mark on ur nose.tell him 2 teach how 2 use it…i use to work for a sleep doctor

Fist of all I would not have even know I had sleep apnea if I had not gone to the sleep study I never st oped breathing even on the sleep study test they just said durnig dream stage my breathing gets shallow. There are probably millions of people who have sleep apnea and don’t even have it know it and they have homeowners insurance, but because they did not go to a sleep study and get diagnosed with it they are allowed to have homeowners insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have severe sleep apnea and I had no problem getting homeowner’s insurance. Call a different agent.

its the same way with me i just think of stuff and cant sleep, do you have anything to worry about that is stopping you from sleeping?
use a lavendar spray on your pillow it will help you sleep otherwise visit the doctor
