Best answer:

it is a condition where the septum blocks one side of the nose. surgery is probably the answer. you can try the nasal strips and see a difference in your breathing which should help snoring. good luck.

Question by jtodd.melody15: How do you deal with a very sick husband?
My husband and I are both 32 years old. Here is a list of his ailments that he has been diagnosed with in the past 2 1/2 years we have been together: prediabetic, hypothyroidism, sleep apnea, tremors, migraines, COPD, asthma, sciatica. Over the weekend we think he had a minor stroke and now his speech is impaired. We have 4 children ages 13, 7, 4 and 1. I love him but I am tired of taking care of him. I have not had a break in years, it is always something with him and I am starting to resent him. Help.
Just to revise this a little bit, don’t tell me I don’t love my husband. I do. We were just released from the hospital today. His family is tired of this and won’t help me and my family is doing all they can. He was electrocuted back in 2002 and has had nothing but problems since. I have been through more than my share of problems with him and have not felt resentment until this point. We have been together since high school. FYI, I have to have surgery that I have put off for over a year so I could take care of him. I cannot digest food correctly and myself am in a great amount of pain and am on a pain management program. (Onset from my pregnancy 2 years ago.) I have had to quit my job to stay home with him. I am currently loosing my home because his unemployment is not near enough to pay the bills. He pays child support and most of the unemployment goes to the ex wife for that. I have already sold jewelry and a vehicle to stay afloat.
And yes think he had a minor stroke the hospital said they couldn’t run an EEG on him until Monday so they sent us home this morning. All other tests came back negative.

Change his diet, start helping him with physical therapy and exercise.
Ask yourself, if the roles were reversed, would he do this for you?
I know I would.

i think i might have sleep apnea because i have all the symptoms & it’s hereditary. i have already taken a sleep study but don’t get my results for about another week. one of the symptoms of sleep apnea is restlessness but that is also one of the symptoms for depression. along with sleep apnea, a person can also get depression but ive been feeling depressed alot longer then i thought i might have sleep apnea. do you think i should see a doctor now because i might have depression or do you think i should wait because it will get better after i am diagnosed with sleep apnea and get treated for it?

No, I think you should wait until your results come back. If the results come back negative then maybe talk to a doctor about possible depression, don’t just assume.

Question by Lola: sleep apnea and tonsils?
Hi. I’m 14 years old and I have medium-largish tonsils. I’ve seen the doctor about it, and they sent me to a medical center for a sleep study. I haven’t heard the report yet, I’m going to hear it tomorrow. But I know that I have some degree of sleep apnea.
I’m wondering, what are the negative things about having tonsils? I often have a hard time breathing, especially after running, but I don’t “choke” in my sleep at all. I tend to get sore throats in the fall and winter.
Is it also true that you loose weight after getting them removed? I’ve never had surgery… and the thought kinda freaks me out.
Does it hurt when you have them removed, and for how long?
And will the “symptoms” be gone?
Ahh. Yeah. I had my sleep study a month ago.
It’s when they hook up wires, I got 25, onto your skin and scalp using special medical tape and gauze, and pads also and you basically just sleep there and they wake up the next morning and send you home, and then later, they’ll review your report with you. Thanks.
