Everytime I lay down in bed, I get really jittery, sometimes my limbs even move on their own (scary!). Sleeping pills do no good, they just make me even more jittery. Note: I do not drink caffeine at all. Also, I’m really hypersensitive, any small tiny noise jerks me awake (or out of ‘falling asleep’). Subsequently I wear earplugs, but I’ve found that I’m addicted to them now!
Anyway, so I get hardly any sleep, and it has gotten to the point where I’ve been awake 80 solid hours.
Help! It’s 4:00am! I feel like I may go insane from lack of sleep!

First, sleep with a fan on, it will take alittle while to get use to it, however, it drowns out other noises. Also, call a doctor, I take Ambien, not all the time, just when I need it. If you haven’t taken a prescribed medicine then you haven’t really tried a sleeping pill. Most over the counter sleeping pills are a joke, they do nothing for me.

You got the Jimmy legs/arms! (Seinfeld joke)
Stress is one of the most common causes of sleeping disorders. Also, try listening to relaxing music while you’re sleeping, I know when I don’t, I start thinking about things and my mind races soo much I can’t sleep well. Try doing soemthing tiring before sleeping.

you will if you don’t sleep most likely you are afraid of something you can go to your Dr and get a better script that the 1 you got or you can try to sleep during the day and get some counseling . to be honest and i am not saying that you do but it sounds like you are addicted to something other than ear plugs and you are going through with drawls i am not being rude OK just level headed OK try to lay down in the morning listening to the classical station at first you might not like it but soon you will find it will sooth you that might help but you might want to go to the hospital really you might if you have been up for an 80 hour duration you are on the verge of something terrible OK now go they will help you OK

Try some relaxation techniques such as controlled deep breathing. Long breaths in through the nose and slowly out through your mouth. I also enjoy sleeping with a loud box fan running to drown out background noise. Also, you should consult a physician on this one. Going for that long without sleep is not healthy. It seems that your insomnia is pretty serious. It also seems that it is caused by anxiety and stress. Prescription sleep meds are in a whole other ball park as compared to over the counter. Also, anti-anxiety meds (anxiolytics) may be helpful. But be careful because both can become habit-forming. Use them only when needed. Good luck. Hope you get some help
