Question by kenandvic: Can chiropractic cure a sleep disorder and snoring?

Good thought – I’ll have to ask mine !
But seriously, since those problems are caused by soft tissue or neurological disorders, I don’t think so. Adjusting your neck – bony facets, tendons, ligaments – may solve a lot of problems, but I don’t think this would be one of them.

  1. What Will The Spill Kill? says:

I don’t think they do because the main focus of chiropractice is the bones…..

  2. Unifex says:

To start with, chiropractic is hokum. It relies on untestable and unmeasurable energy flows through the body that the manipulation supposedly “corrects”. Professor Edzard Ernst stated: “Chiropractic is rooted in mystical concepts. This led to an internal conflict within the chiropractic profession, which continues today.” I would recommend you see an actual doctor.

    In answer to your question, in the context of how chiropractic claims to work;

Given that the main underlying cause of most snoring is related to soft tissue it is unlikely that manipulating the spine will alter the soft tissue structure in order to alleviate the condition.

Regarding the sleep disorder, there are many, many potential causes for that and without more detail there is no real way to offer any advice except for starting with your local GP and follow their advice.

i do not know but will also ask my chiropractor.
I do know that professor ernst, a medical doctor, knows nothing about chiropractic if he refers to it as hokum. he did a meta analysis (reading others published papers) of cherry picked articles on which to base his erroneous opinion. and that is all his comments are…his opinion

  4. Mr E says:

depending on what it is, often the answer is yes. i have seen people who stopped snoring after upper cervical correction, and who have been able to sleep better, both from relief of pain and in cases involving endocrine problems, such as thyroid imbalances, which often cause insomnia. it’s rather remarkable the ignorance that’s out there still. people still think chiropractic is about bones. wrong. it’s about the nervous system, which happens to control the bones and everything else. of course, the blind allopaths and their suppliers profit greatly from this ignorance, while the public pays for it in every way you can imagine.

  5. HappyDoc says:

Mr E. is correct. Not only for chiropractic but also cranioSacral, and other ‘energetic’ modalities that work on the nervous system.

Snoring is most of the time because of energetic blockage in the middle part of the body (where the main organs are located). Of course the real cause (the original cause) can be somewhere else as there are many connections in the body.

Also take care not to eat too late (because when the stomach is busy, the middle is a little ‘blocked’ since all energy naturally goes to the body), try eating the last time before 3 pm for a while, and see if that has any effect on you.

About the skepps, they often have something to say, but more often they are just a joke.
A joke is a signal from the universe that you need to laugh more in life.
To laugh more will give you a better natural immune system.
That’s why the skepps are out there.

    Good luck.
