I have a sleep study coming up. I’m not convinced I have it… but if I do, will the study catch it for sure? Or could I possibly have a “good night” and they wouldn’t detect it? I guess I’m asking if apnea can be an occasional thing, like a few times a week or if it’s always every single night. I frequently wake up gasping for air, but not every night.

It is anytime your body lays down flat. your air way begins to close and pressure is being put on it. Do you wake up with a headache? are you ankles swollen as well? These are also signs of sleep apnea. Good luck i hope all goes well

If you have it you will have it everynight. Everyone has apnea. A few times an hour is normal. It is when you have it 10 or more times an hour and your oxygen level drops. If you have apnea and are waking up several times a night and do not even realize it. It is better to know you have it than to not know.

Treatment can make the world of difference in your life. No more morning headaches, no more waking up to go to the bathroom, waking up feeling refreshed after 8 hours, no naps needed, improved blood pressure, decreased depression, increased attention. No more dozing off during the best part of the movie.
