3 Responses to “Can Sleep Apnea make it hard to fall asleep during the night and make me fall asleep during the day?”
  1. Christine K says:

Many people with sleep apnea don’t even know that they have it, for they generally fall asleep with no problem.
But overwhelming fatique during the day, after a “seemingly good nights sleep” is usually their first clue that something is wrong with their health. More than 12 million Americans suffer with this problem. Untreated, sleep apnea can cause high blood pressure and other cardiovascular disease, memory problems, weight gain, impotency, and headaches. Moreover, untreated sleep apnea may be responsible for job impairment and motor vehicle crashes.
People who are overweight are more prone to this, as are people who always snore while sleeping.

If you suspect that you have sleep apnea, contact your health care practicioner right away.

If you are having difficulty falling asleep at night, it would behoove you to determine what is causing the problem.
Your brain won’t “shut off”…IE: musing over problems and stresses….Too much caffeine? Outside noise that prevents you from falling asleep? Uncomfortable bed? Getting between 7-9 hrs of good sleep is crucial, and without it, we are impacted negatively in all areas of our lives.
    I wish you the best!
