I would only get tested if you are having symptoms, daytime fatigue, waking up unrefreshed etc. Talk to your doctor

There is a strong relationship between sleep apnea and obesity. As long as you gain weight, your neck gets thicker. When the level of fat from the throat increases, your airway is getting smaller.

I read that if a man has a large neck, more than 17″ around, and women have more than 16″ around, they may have symptoms of sleep apnea, such as:

    -lound and irregular snoring.
    -choking or gasping during sleep.
    -long pauses in breathing.
(this symptoms are difficult to observe, because you are sleeping. You shoul ask your bed-partner to watch your sleep for a while)
    -morning headaches
    -excessive daytime sleepiness
    -high blood pressure
    -uncontrollable weight gain
    -impotence
-frequent trips to the bathroom at night
    -irritability, quick to anger.

So, what do you think? Do you have this symptoms?

    I hope it helps!
