My husband has sleep apnea and is on a machine, yet he still snores like a bear? What would make him do this?

My husband has gained weight and sleeps on his back, would that have anything to do with the snoring?

I have similar situation with my boyfriend, people who usually sleep on their backs are more likely to snore. If he could change his habit to sleep on his stomach or side, it would definatly reduce snoring from my experience. If your husbund’s BMI is good, the weight shouldnt affect snoring. For example, if a man is overweight (eg 123kg) and he sleeps on his back, you will be sleeping next to a train.

If he as been on the machine (C-PAP or Bi-PAP) for a long time, he may need a pressure change. If he has gained a lot of weight over the time he started using the cpap, that could be your answer.
I am afraid if he is still snoring while on C-PAP, he may need a new (titration) sleep study to find the new pressure.
Good luck

yes it would have him to loose the weight and sleep on the side and have a re titation and have his pressure incresased to help keep the airway open and talk with your sleep doctor

Both of the things you mentioned help induce snoring like overweight, and sleeping on back.
