Technically indica is the only thc. sativa is more like hemp!

Indica because sativa has an uplifting effect but indica has a relaxed effect

Indica strains give more of a body high… it will help you fall to sleep.
Sativa, on the other hand, is more of a head high. Some strains even help you feel energized.

If you are having trouble sleeping, it is best to go with an Indica strain. Or at least a strain that is mostly Indica. If you go to a dispensary, they should have all the different strains labeled. Also… the people who run the dispensary should be able to point you in the right direction. But really the best way to know is to experiment yourself with the different strains… not everyone reacts the same way to one type of medicine.

I am a registered OMMP (Oregon Medical Marijuana Program) cardholder. I also suffer from a debilitating sleep disorder, as well as severe lower back pain from a bicycle accident. I use mostly Indica for the pain… and it is also very helpful for getting to sleep. I take Sativa when I want to be more energized throughout the day. Or when I’m working on art. Good luck to you… I definitely feel for you… not being able to sleep can be extremely frustrating.

Your doctor should tell you which is the best one to use.

Its actually the other way around. Sativa’s have more of a cerebral high. These high tend to make you more energetic, thus they are good for people who suffer from depression.

Indica’s have a sedative, sleepy high that is perfect for insomnia, or any other sleep disorder.
