Occasionally…lets say (4) times per year after going to sleep I wake up but my total body is paralyzed. I see things around me…my room seems brighter and I hear moving noises but….I can’t move. Totally paralyzed!. I try to vocalize but it seems nothing happens. Anybody out there had this happen?

Yes. This is a condition called Sleep Paralysis. Basically it’s a halluctination induced by REM sleep. I used to get them a lot, and I know that they’re NOT fun at all. Just to make sure this is what you’ve got, you’re just falling asleep and your eyes shoot open, and you can’t move anything except your eyes, most of the time you feel like there’s a presence in the room with you, and sometimes you can feel like something is crawling onto your chest. Or you feel a pressure on your chest.
The condition is aggravated by sleeping on your back, lack of sleep, medication for insomnia and also by sleeping in a cold or damp room.
Sleep paralysis can be treated with a small dose of anti-depressants called SSRI’s. When I say small, I mean like, 1/5th of what they’d give you to treat depression. I’ve been taking 25 mg of zoloft once a day to treat this, whereas the normal dose for depression is 100-200 mg. If you don’t want to try medication, turn the heat up and sleep on your side.

Can’t say that I have. I do believe in aliens, but I doubt you’re being abducted. You’re probably just dreaming. Skeptics have all sorts of reasons as to why you’re not being abducted. There again eblievers have all sorts of reasons and explinations as to why you ARE being abducted. People will think you’re crazy if you talk openly about your abduction experience so I would recommend not talking about it. Hope you sleep better.

They call those “Night Terrors”. It used to happen to me when I was young. You are still in the waking state. It’s like being awake and asleep at the same time.

that’s NOTHING, pal… just watch out for the anal probes.
    yikes… OUCH!

seeing as alien abduction is absurd (if aliens really were visiting and abducting, there would be at least SOME solid proof), then sounds like a recurring nightmare.

Very often when a person has a nightmare or a dream we seem to wak eup but actually are still in it. I promise you that you have not been abducted by anyone and it is just a few moments of a continuing nightm, are or dream and not unusual. Don’t worry …you are fine.

Look up narcolepsy. I have it…it has symptoms of sleep paralysis, night time hallucinations, you are sometimes fully awake and still feel like someone iswith you. I have terrible dreams, some so real. Look up narcolepsy and see if you fit in. Narcolepsy is not about nodding off uncontrolably, it contains other aspects.
