YOu need to have a sleep test done in a sleep lab. I do know people who have set up video cam just to see if they can tell if they are having leg movements in their sleep. If you seriously think you have a sleep disorder
get a referral to a sleep clinic and get the sleep test done. I have had 3 sleep studies, and found out have PLMD (periodic leg movement disorder and sleep apnea)
I own several online groups on sleep disorders.
Developing coping skills and talking to others with the same problems is very helpful and makes you know that you are not alone.

You need a doctor to order a sleep study to determine what problems you have while sleeping.
Sleep studies suck. There is no question about it, and if you ever ask anyone who's ever had one (I've had 3), they will tell you how much they suck.
Surprisingly though, the they are they only accurate measure to determine what is affecting your sleep, and for the doctor to prescribe treatment. If you get one, I recommend scheduling it on a day before you are normally off from work, so that you can go home and get a good quality nap (more sleep) in your own bed.
If you think you have sleep apnea, the best corse of action is to lose weight so that your neck size is smaller. The alternatives are a lifetime of being hooked up to a machine at night to help you get sufficient oxygen and/or oral surgery to open the airway.

Go to the doctors and request for something that monoters your brain while you sleep. I had one done, they found abnormalities but said it was nothing to worry about. I would recomend it because it's free and you get the advise of a professional.
