What is it called when you are sleeping, like snoring, but you can still hear everything that is going on around you? Almost like if your body’s asleep, but your mind is not.

We went over something like this in Stress Management. You’re probably talking about the “twilight” phase of sleep, as she called it. It’s like the very beginning stage of sleep where your mind is half-asleep and you might see some things that aren’t there, but you also can still be aware of what is going on around you.

You may be thinking of sleep paralysis. This can happen when just dropping off to sleep or when waking up. During sleep, the brain sends out a chemical through the body which effectively ‘paralyses’ you during periods of REM sleep, with the intention that you won’t act out your dreams. Sometimes the brain produces too much of this or mistimes its production and as you start to fall asleep [or start to wake up] the chemical is still in your body, although your brain is beginning to wake up. Sometimes you may be in the middle of a dream but can still see or hear what’s happening in the room around you, at the same time. Sometimes you are just completely awake and aware, but paralysed for a short time. It can be pretty scary, but relaxing your body will bring you out of it faster.

When the brain sleep, electrical activities are less than in the day time. Neurons works whit electrical energies (small energy). Normally, exist a right source of this small energy. In the night time, this source must be slowly, sleepy. If you eat after 7: 30 PM is possible to have little problems with sleep.
