It can happen to anyone randomly, but if you are experiencing it frequently, it may be a sign of narcolepsy. Do you have excessive daytime sleepiness as well? If so, you def need to go to a sleep doctor. I'm not sure if sleep disorders will get you discharged or not. At any rate, there's nothing they can do to make the sleep paralysis go away.
