Not sure why you might be doing this, but when infants do it they wrap or bandage their hands with something soft like gauze. Perhaps you could use cotton gloves or something.

It happens to me too. I mostly scratch my forehead. My doctor recommended me a screening medical checkup,so I slept on the clinic test for one night session. The following week my doctor called me for an appointment to see him. He told me that report from the test clinic were ready. The report was saying that I had 2 pathological sleeping disorders:Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Restless legs syndrome.
Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome is a common disorder in which disturbed breathing during sleep, usually attributable to obstruction of the airway, characterized by a reduction or pause of breathing.
The possible list of causes includes many things other than sleep disorders too.I would ask that you consider further whether this could be restless legs syndrome. You can learn more about this at http://www.sleepandsnoringspecialist.com. If you are worried about this particular syndrome…..don’t be! There are wonderful and safe medications, like Requip, that can your doctor can prescribe.GO AND SEE YOUR DOCTOR.
