This sounds like a pretty unpleasant situation. The first thing to do is to look at what docs call &quot;sleep hygeine&quot; - what do you do before bed time, whats your caffeine intake like, do you drink lots of fluids before bed, smoking, stimulant drugs etc.
You also need to work hard to develop a regular bedtime ritual so that you send the brain the right kind of triggers to provoke sleep.
Having said all that however - my own sleep improved hugely when I got hold of the Nightwave Sleep Assistant. A simple little blue light machine that seems to work as if by magic at getting me off into a deep and restful sleep.http://askdoctorcameron.com/blog/2008/11…
