What Kind Of Dream Or Sleep Disorder Do I Have???
Posted by: Alan in Sleep Disorder, tags: Disorder, Dream, Have, Kind, Sleep, What
Ok, so over the last year I’ve had some unsual dream experiences, and I want to figure out what it is. basically, its like Im sleeping walking.. or.. sleep.. moving.. or w/e.. in my sleep. but Im conscious enough to remember it the next day, but at the time I am still dreaming. Even though I see everything in my room clearly. For example, I’ve woken up remembering having full on conversations with shadows.. or.. people that.. as I become more cosncious dissolve into shadows. Or the other night I woke up to find a bird fluttering its wings in my bed. and I was asleep and just sat up staring at this bird I can barely see in the dark.. and then go bck to sleep and remember it the next day.. So.. help please, I really want to look up on whatever this is, but since I dont know what it is I cant look it up. thanks

This might sound a little strange, but my husband had some of these same experiences.
He has since been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and since he began using his cpap, his “nightmares” or whatever you want to call them have stopped.
Can’t say for sure that that is your problem as well, but it might be worth mentioning to your doctor.
Hope this helps!

its called sleepwalking but you are 1/2 asleep. i do it all the time and i’m 33 yrs old. my husband hates it when it happens because sometimes it scares us both. like one night i went to dive off the bed and he had to catch me. my kids do it too but not like me. stress really makes it worse. try to relax and read before bed to clear you r head of the days events.

have a sleep study done. insurance almost always pays in-network (at least 80% of test if not more). they will either be able to tell you that you have sleep apnea, or they can look into narcolepsy, or REM behavior disorder. If you want to do some research just google/yahoo it. Some good foundations are the AASM, and NSF (american academy of sleep medicine and national sleep foundation respectively). definitely get it checked out bc/ it could be an easy fix.

You may be having hypnopompic hallucinations. The eyes are open but your brain is still in REM sleep.
You can google it for more info. I have them all the time.
