Each and every night i sleep at no earlier than 5 am, coz i can’t. (i wake up late so i sleep ok) I actually have a fear of sleeping i find hard to explain: everytime i try to sleep i keep thinking about what happens when my mind goes to rest, and i freak out. This problem caused a new one to form where i am afraid of not being able to sleep everytime i try, which leaves me lying around for long periods of time. Sometimes, i even have nightmares about seeing myself asleep, and knowing that I am dreaming, yet i am stuck in this dream and i cannot wake up. Eventually i do wake up (in my dream) then i fall back asleep uncontrollably so it feels like I’m trapped! Any ideas plz?

    go to a sleep specialist. Could be a variety of things including sycho. You might have a real fear of not being able to control everything and this includes falling asleep because then you feel like you have lost control. Several things—check out with a Dr. and also check out with your pastor or priest.
