Does Cpap Helps Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea?

You bet. I have been on mine for almost a year now, and what a difference. I mean I still get tired at the end of the day, but I have enough energy to make it through my day now. Have you had a sleep study?

Yes, yes, yes, and there are several types of “masks” — so if you just can’t get used to one insist on another. Usually they start you on the least expensive however there are nasal canula (small tubes that barely fit inside your nostrils) ones that aren’t cumbersome or uncomfortable at all. My husband had the sleep study and got the cpap with the original mask and it was horrible, because I worked in healthcare I no problem complaining loud and clear that we wanted the canula – now it’s a dream, he sleeps sound and can make it through the 11:00 news and we can sleep in the same bed without me wanting to smother him.

yeah, it’s probably the best therapy currently out there, but there are other less effective ones too. Personally, I could never sleep with a mask, and that’s the problem, a significant number of folks stop using the cpap machine after awhile, once they get tired of wearing it.

Yes, it does. My best friend suffers from obstructive sleep apnea and once he got the machine, he started sleeping better. And it has continued for the last two years.

It provides positive air pressure…..so that when your throat tries to close off, air is forced past it.
Some people find it uncomfortable and quit using it. But for those who can tollerate it, it is often a functional cure.

yes. My grandpa has one and he has great sleep every night now. Also a lady that i work with has one, she also says she sleeps through the night, no worries. Wakes up feeling refreshed.
It’s very safe, and you should have one if you have SA.
